I think Taxi Driver and the Irishman are the ones that matter more from a film perspective. Just an idea, would love to hear anyone's interpretation, thanks! I'm assuming I'm missing something because Scorsese is a genius, but I remembered his "one for them / one for me" policy, and something I heard in the behind the scenes documentary lead me to believe this might be one in the "for them" category Am I missing something? There didn't seem to be a "message" at the end like there was in Goodfellas, at least I didn't catch it if there was. Just watched Casino, although I definitely loved it, a beautiful movie, I was left perplexed by the ending. With this newfound appreciation and fascination i have recently watched Goodfellas, Wolf of Wall Street, the Irishman, Gangs of New York, Taxi Driver and Bringing Out The Dead, and I was blown away by all of them, especially by what I considered to be the esoteric messages I was perceiving, often towards the end of the film. In the past two or three weeks, I finally "got" Scorsese, to a much higher degree than I had in my younger days.
